Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NetComTV ("NetComTV", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our streaming television service across iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, and Fire TV apps (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
We try to keep this policy plain and short. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@net-com.tv.
1. Information we collect
We collect what we need to deliver the Service, keep it secure, and support advertising on ad-supported tiers. The categories below cover everything we collect from you, plus technical information collected automatically.
1.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used to sign you in, contact you about your subscription, and recover your account.
- Password — stored only as a salted bcrypt hash; we cannot recover or read your plaintext password.
- Account type — whether your account is a consumer, friends-and-family, or institutional (OEM/site) account.
1.2 Subscription and payment data
- Plan and subscription state — which plan you are on, when your subscription started and renews, and whether it is active, past-due, or canceled.
- Stripe customer ID and subscription ID — opaque identifiers that link your account to its records inside Stripe.
- Charge history — for each successful or failed payment we record the amount, currency, date, and status.
We do not store your full payment card number, expiration date, CVV, or bank account details. All payment data is handled and stored by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor, under their security and privacy practices. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.
1.3 Device information
To deliver streams, enforce per-plan limits, secure the Service, and support advertising, we collect device information that the app reports or that we observe automatically:
- Device identifiers — an app-generated device fingerprint, and (where your device and settings allow) the device model, manufacturer, operating-system version, app version, screen size, network type, locale, time zone, device name, and the device's local (LAN) IP address. For institutional (OEM/site) deployments we also record the device's MAC address for pre-registration.
- Advertising identifier — on ad-supported use, we collect your device's resettable advertising identifier (IDFA on Apple devices, Advertising ID/GAID on Android/Fire, or the platform equivalent), used to request and frequency-cap ads and to limit ad repetition. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device settings (see Section 4). On iOS/tvOS we request this only with your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- Network/WiFi information — your public IP address (see Section 1.4), and, only where your device permits and you grant the relevant permission, the name (SSID) of the WiFi network the device is connected to. We use WiFi network information to recognize shared institutional networks and to detect abuse.
1.4 Location information
We do not collect precise GPS location. We do collect:
- Approximate location derived from your IP address — your public IP address is captured on each request and used to mint signed playback tokens, enforce geographic and licensing restrictions, and detect abuse. We also look up and store an approximate location (city, region, and country), internet service provider, and network operator (ASN) associated with that IP, and we may flag whether the connection appears to be a datacenter, VPN, or proxy. This lookup is performed through a third-party IP-geolocation provider.
- Network grouping — we may group devices that share the same public IP address to recognize a household, business, or institutional site, to apply the right plan, and to identify abuse or unauthorized resale. This produces an approximate, network-level location and grouping — not a precise position.
1.5 Viewing and usage data
- Watch state — channels, programs, and titles you played, playback positions for resuming, and basic viewing telemetry (start, pause, error, and similar events).
- Watchlist and preferences — items you add to your list, parental-control settings, and similar app preferences.
- Viewing preferences profile — we analyze your viewing history to understand content preferences (for example, the categories you watch most and the times of day you watch). We use this to improve the Service and, on ad-supported tiers, to support more relevant advertising. We do not use this profile to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
1.6 Advertising data
On ad-supported tiers, when the app requests an ad we and our advertising partners process: your advertising identifier, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device type/make/model/OS, app and app version, coarse content signals (such as the channel or program genre you are watching), and ad interaction events (ad requests, impressions, completions, and errors). This information is used to select, deliver, cap, and measure ads. See Section 3 for the partners involved.
1.7 Diagnostic and security logs
- Server-side logs of API requests, errors, and security events (rate-limit hits, sign-in attempts, admin actions) are retained for operational and security purposes.
- Crash and error reports are routed to our error-monitoring provider when enabled. These reports may include the URL or screen where the error occurred, a stack trace, and your account ID; they do not include passwords or payment-card details.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate the Service — sign you in, deliver streams, remember where you left off, and apply your preferences.
- Bill you and process renewals through Stripe.
- Enforce your plan limits (concurrent streams, devices, geographic availability) and protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized resale of streams — including by analyzing IP addresses, approximate location, network operator, and device groupings.
- Deliver, cap, personalize, and measure advertising on ad-supported tiers, and understand viewing preferences to improve content and recommendations.
- Send essential service emails — payment receipts, payment-failure notices, account-suspension notices, password resets, and material changes to our policies. We do not use your email for marketing without your separate consent.
- Diagnose, debug, and improve the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. How we share information
We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only for the purposes described:
- Stripe (payments) — to process subscriptions and charges. Stripe acts as an independent controller of your payment-card data under Stripe's privacy policy.
- Flussonic / our content-delivery infrastructure — to authorize and deliver video streams. We pass a short-lived signed token, your IP, and the channel identifier; we do not share your email or password with these systems.
- Advertising and measurement partners — on ad-supported tiers, to request, deliver, cap, and measure ads we share the advertising data described in Section 1.6 (advertising identifier, IP/approximate location, device and app information, coarse content signals, and ad-interaction events) with advertising marketplaces, demand partners, and measurement vendors. Depending on the jurisdiction, this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — see Sections 4 and 9 for how to opt out.
- IP-geolocation provider — we send IP addresses to a third-party geolocation service to obtain the approximate location and network information described in Section 1.4.
- Error monitoring — receives crash and error reports as described in Section 1.7, when enabled.
- Email-delivery provider — to send the transactional emails described in Section 2.
- Service providers — companies that help us run the Service (hosting, security, customer support) under contractual confidentiality and use-limitation obligations.
- Legal compliance — government, law-enforcement, or regulatory authorities when we are required to do so by valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NetComTV, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case the recipient will be required to honor this policy or notify you of changes.
We do not sell or rent your account or payment information. We may "share" the limited advertising data in Section 1.6 with advertising partners as described above; you can opt out as described in Sections 4 and 9.
4. Your choices and controls
- Limit ad tracking — you can reset your advertising identifier, or turn on "Limit Ad Tracking" (iOS) / "Opt out of Ads Personalization" (Android/Fire) in your device's privacy settings, at any time. On iOS/tvOS you can also decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Doing so signals that we and our partners should not use your advertising identifier for personalized advertising.
- WiFi network name — if your platform asked for a location or local-network permission to read the WiFi network name, you can revoke it in your device settings; the Service continues to work without it.
- Opt out of advertising "sharing" — to opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, use your device's ad-tracking controls above, send a Global Privacy Control browser signal where applicable, or email support@net-com.tv.
- Access and update — sign in to the app to view or update your email, password, and preferences.
- Cancel — cancel your subscription at any time from the billing screen; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Delete your account — use the in-app "Delete account" option (also available via
DELETE /v1/me). This permanently removes your account, devices, watch history, preferences, subscriptions, and charge records from our systems. Some records we are legally required to retain (e.g. invoicing and tax records, audit logs of administrative actions) will be kept for the legally required period and then deleted. - Parental controls — set a parental PIN in the app to restrict content rated above your chosen threshold.
- Email preferences — transactional emails (receipts, security notices) cannot be turned off while your account is active, because they are part of the Service. If we ever add marketing email it will be opt-in only.
5. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly serve personalized advertising to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@net-com.tv and we will delete it.
6. Data retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active and for a short period after deletion to allow recovery from accidental deletes, then permanently deleted (except where retention is legally required).
- Subscription and charge records — retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and consumer-protection law (typically seven years in the United States).
- Device, viewing, and advertising data — retained for as long as needed to operate the Service, enforce limits, and support security and advertising, and then deleted or de-identified. Anonymous-device records that are inactive are deleted after 90 days.
- IP-geolocation lookups — the approximate location/network data for an IP is cached and refreshed periodically; it is not tied to your account beyond the device records described above.
- Server-side request and security logs — retained for up to 90 days unless required longer for a security or fraud investigation.
- Crash and error reports — retained per the retention policy of our error-monitoring provider (currently up to 90 days).
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including TLS in transit, bcrypt-hashed passwords, signed playback tokens (HMAC-SHA256) with short TTLs, role-based access controls for administrative actions, audit logging of administrative actions, and encrypted database backups. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your devices updated.
If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
8. International users
The Service is hosted in the United States and is intended for users in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
9. Your U.S. state privacy rights
If you are a resident of a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, Texas, and similar states), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal-retention exceptions.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. As described in Sections 1.6 and 3, on ad-supported tiers we share limited advertising data with advertising partners, which may qualify as "sharing." You can opt out using your device's ad-tracking controls, a Global Privacy Control signal where applicable, or by emailing support@net-com.tv.
- Opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (we do not engage in this kind of profiling).
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right (other than offering a lawful, ad-supported tier).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@net-com.tv from the address associated with your account. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 45 days). If you wish to have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf, the agent must provide written proof of authorization.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will take effect 30 days after we post the revised policy at this URL or notify you by email or in-app notice, whichever is earlier. Non-material changes (typo fixes, clarifications) may take effect immediately. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
